Things To Do On A Rainy Day

November 23, 2018

We’re delighted that our Rotherham park was recently a finalist in the Day Out With The Kids Family Favourites for Best Active Day Out in Yorkshire! Although we didn’t win the top prize and it deservingly went to SnoZone in Castleford (we’re not jealous, promise), we’re still super proud that we made it to be a finalist out of hundreds of attractions in Yorkshire!

To celebrate, we’ve put together a list of things to do when the weather is rough and the kids don’t want to go outside.

  1. Baking

With Christmas just around the corner, a miserable Sunday is the perfect opportunity to whack out the mixing bowls and make some early festive treats to nibble on after Sunday dinner. Try making gingerbread men, choc chip muffins or even fudge, you could save some or make some more to package up and turn into little Christmas gifts for Grandparents or Aunties and Uncles! Here’s our favourite recipes:
Gingerbread Men
Chocolate Fudge

  1. Christmas Card Making

While we’re on the Christmas theme, get cosy and stick a film on in the background and make Christmas cards! They’re a great personal touch which will have relatives beaming and it’ll keep your monkeys quiet for at least an hour while they cut, stick and paint. You can get cheap accessories like felt, sequins, pom poms and other extras from online shops.

It might create a little bit of tidying up after, but it’ll save you writing some Christmas cards!

  1. Cat Cafe’s

Cat cafes have suddenly started popping up everywhere, they are usually a shelter for cats that have been abandoned or given away. Did you know that hearing a cat purr can lower your blood pressure? People love cats and cats love lazing around and sleeping, so why not combine the two and create a space where people and cats can chill out together! The purrfect (sorry) place to take the kids to let them say hello to some feline friends and enjoy a hot chocolate or cake too.

  1. Jump Inc Trampoline Parks

Our parks are the answer to your prayers when the heavens open up and the wind has a bite. We are every kids dream – wall to wall trampolines, climbing walls wipe out zones, performance trampolines and more. The ideal way to get the kids to bounce off some steam but getting them active at the same time! Ditch the TV and the PlayStations, Jump Inc is best way to be entertained these days! Come see us in Leeds or Sheffield and soon to be Lincoln.

  1. Jump INCflated Rotherham

Since our first park at Rotherham got a revamp, we’ve seen thousands of you bouncing through the doors to get lost in our 26,000 st ft warehouse full of inflatable heaven. Even if it’s cold outside you’re sure to warm up clambering through our obstacle course, or shooting down our huge slides. Visit us next to Parkgate, Rotherham.
